After 9 years with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the Central Hockey League & the old Western Professional Hockey League. The long time Mudbugs goalie has announced his retirement from pro hockey.

In addition to being one of the biggest names in team history, he was also the last player from the 2001 Presidents Cup Championship Team that was one of the top highlights in team history.

"Getting married and starting a new chapter of my life; it just feels like now is the right time," Carroll said. "I've played for ten years, and with Janae and I want to to start a family together, I'm at peace saying that i'm done."

"I want to think the Mudbugs org. and all the fans for always supporting me throughout my time here. Thinks to John Madden and Tommy & Leslie for ensuring that Mudbugs hockey is a focal point in this community. And, of course, thanks to "Musky" for bringing my here in 2001 and having the confidence in me to let me play the sport I love."

He's had a strong career in the CHL as he is the all time shutout king with 31, along with 187 career wins and is the only CHL Goalie to be picked for 6 CHL All Star Games. Odessa Jackalopes

Jackalopes re-sign Sebastien Thinel, Dave Van Drunen and Phil Plante

Odessa is looking to 2010-2011 as to restock for a possible championship run after losing in the Southern Conference Final for the 2nd straight year, last year against the Brahmas and the Americans this year. Thinel finished 2nd in scoring only behind Colorado's Kevin Ulanski who had 109 points last season during the regular season.

In 13 playoff games, he scored 14 points which included 12 assists in the postseason. His best games this past season where he had a pair of 5 point Games & a 4 point game.

Van Drunen uses his size to immediate as he had 80 penalty minutes in 2008-2009 and 104 back this past year. At 6'0" 208 LBS, he's not afraid to immediate opponent's and deliver some pain and make teams think twice before crossing his way.

Plante uses his speed and a great slap shot from the defense to be the team's top scoring defensemen where he had 45 points (15G 30A) and also finished in the top 5 in the league in that category for the entire season. One thing he needs to work on is the ability to not give up so many goals. He finished with a -1 in the +/- category as he went from a +6 to a -1 this year.
